Many schools typically deal mostly with bad behavior and assume good behavior will take care of itself. This not only keeps good behavior at a status quo, but is also does not effectively reduce the bad behavior. Jostens Renaissance and the schools behind the stories below aim to recognize good behavior and find new ways to reduce bad behavior.
An example of what one Renaissance school has done to impact behavior is included below. To view our entire archives of Renaissance behovior ideas, you will need to log in. On Time and Ready
![]() Belding High School has been a Renaissance high school since 1990. Each year has a theme and each year the theme gets more interesting. This year's theme is "On Time.Ready." We are focusing on being on time to school and prepared to get the job of learning done. A local retailer paid for all of our theme T-Shirts for this year which we distributed at our Fall Rally. Our overall "Wow" for the year prize will be a 42" Plasma TV which will be awarded this spring to one student at out Spring Rally. Every two weeks students receive special tickets for either an "A" (two tickets) or a "B" (one ticket) in each class. Bonus tickets are also given out for perfect attendance as we move into the spring. These tickets will be thrown into a hat from which our TV winner will be selected. We also have another special event taking place concurrently. Belding High School has recently partner with the Detroit Pistons for 75 free tickets to be awarded for a game against the Phoenix Suns in April. When we get to the end of the marking period in March, twenty-five students who have earned one of the top two Renaissance cards will have their names put into a drawing for three free tickets to the game.
