Jostens Educator Services: Rewarding Academic Achievement.

Looking for some fun new ways to energize your staff and recognize their contributions? When starting a staff recognition program at your school, remember to keep the following in mind when implementing a staff recognition program of your own:
  • Make sure recognition is accessible and offered to all faculty/staff
  • Try to avoid an "Us vs. Them" mentality
  • Remember that respect through Renaissance is an "inside-out" approach
  • Provide opportunities for faculty/staff to thank and recognize each other for all things large and small
An example of what one Renaissance school has done to recognize staff is included below. To view our entire archives of Renaissance staff recognition ideas, you will need to log in.
Years of Service Awards

Our Renaissance committee honors retirees in May of each year and the PTA selects a Teacher of the Year, but many times great teachers and staff members go unnoticed until they retire. So this year we have begun honoring our staff for their years of service to our school district. We are recognizing staff after they have completed their first, fifth, tenth, fifteenth, twentieth, twenty-fifth, and thirtieth year of service. One group is honored at each faculty meeting. Honorees receive a certificate and a gift, which correlates with the specific anniversary: the first year is paper, so each honoree received a notepad. The fifth year is wood, so they will receive a wooden picture frame, etc. It is a great way to recognize our staff for everything they do to educate our students!
